The Phone (1) has received a number of post-release updates, despite not being officially available in some areas. Nothing OS 1.1.2, the most recent OTA to reach devices, provides a lot of bug fixes in addition to other improvements.
The much anticipated Tesla integration, a number of significant bug improvements, and the July security patch were all incorporated in the previous software update. This time, Nothing OS 1.1.2 offers a lot of enhancements and other changes to the software interface, including enhanced support for charging with third-party power bricks.
It’s important to note that only Quick Charge 4.0 fast chargers are reportedly compatible with the Nothing Phone at this time (1). We are unsure if Nothing OS 1.1.2 permits the use of additional third-party charging bricks, but based on our scant testing, it does not seem to.
The fingerprint icon at the lockscreen can now be seen when moving or gazing at the Phone (1) display thanks to a new toggle that has also been implemented. This complements a bug patch implemented in Nothing OS 1.1.0 that saw the fingerprint scanner symbol frequently vanish after a long period of inactivity, and it is a much-appreciated fix.
Additionally, the Always-on display is now by default turned off at night, although you may modify this setting in Settings if you’d like. Along with other UI and software bug changes, the Nothing OS 1.1.2 release purports to cure Bluetooth codec difficulties. The complete changelog is available below:
The Nothing OS 1.1.2 patch, which is about 30-40MB in size, is now being distributed more extensively after first appearing on devices over the weekend. Go to Settings > System updates and select Check for update to see if the OTA is ready.
