Google offers a peek of its iOS 16 lock screen widgets for services like Gmail and Maps.

The Google is detailing forthcoming Lock Screen widgets across six main apps are scheduled to emerge over the upcoming weeks as iOS 16 launches for the iPhone today .

The simplest Gmail Lock Screen widget displays the number of new messages you have as a circle or a line. A detailed one offers additional customization options and categorizes your email in addition to Chats.

Real-time traffic information and predicted trip times to locations like home and work will be provided through a Google Maps Frequent Trips widget, which will also take preferred mode of transportation into account. The other widgets in the apps can conduct a search for hotels, restaurants, stores, or cafes in the area.

In addition to giving you one-tap access to starred files and folders, Google Drive can highlight suggested files for you to open, such as those that have been shared with you.

Next is Google Search, which offers voice search, Google Lens, and filters for shopping, homework, and translation.
Similar shortcuts are available in Chrome for voice search, new or incognito tabs, and even the Dino game.
Last but not least, Google News presents current headlines at a glance, with the publication identified at the top.

These Lock Screen widgets will be accessible in the upcoming weeks, according to Google.
