Creators can now create Shorts from their existing videos on YouTube.

With sites like Instagram and TikTok, where content creators can produce material that captures your interest for just long enough before the video finishes, YouTube has long been attempting to catch up. YouTube Shorts have been around for a while, but the company is now introducing a new method for producing them from already-existing videos.

A YouTube Short was previously created in the same way as a video before this change. It was necessary to upload footage that has been edited to a maximum runtime of 60 seconds. Shorts are a terrific tool for producers that enable you to produce quick and interesting content that people can dive into, and while it wasn’t hard to accomplish before, it’s now even simpler.

That option for making Shorts from pre-existing videos will now be available to creators is aa1. No, the new Short doesn’t have to be entirely made out of content taken from that single clip; instead, you can start with an existing video and upload or capture additional footage to make your Short up to 60 seconds long.

By using the creator tools, shorts made from pre-existing videos will connect back to the source YouTube video, enabling visitors to watch both. Additionally, according to YouTube, only the content’s original producer will be able to turn it into a Short. Your videos cannot be used in this way by any other creators to create Shorts.

The procedure is quite simple, and setting everything up and running only takes a few seconds. Find a video that you already published to YouTube. The Create button ought to be located beneath the video. By pressing it, you can select Edit into a Short. From there, you can edit and import video clips to turn the video into a Short. You must back out of the editing screen once before adding video. You can then take more photos or videos to upload.

This tool will probably be a wonderful one for audience engagement in the future because it allows artists make fresh content from old films. You should soon be able to make your own YouTube Shorts from posted videos as YouTube claims that this new functionality is currently rolling out to Android and iOS users.
