With Xbox and Nvidia GeForce Now, Logitech is developing a handheld dedicated cloud gaming device.

In response to the explosive growth of cloud gaming services in recent years, Logitech has announced plans for a handheld cloud gaming device.

This week, Logitech revealed a collaboration with Tencent, a major Chinese gaming company, to create and market a cloud gaming handheld under the Logitech G name. Later this year, the device is expected to be available.

This dedicated cloud gaming handheld, according to Logitech, would support a number of cloud gaming services; however, it’s not clear if Google Stadia would be included at this time. Discussions are now ongoing to add Xbox Cloud Gaming and Nvidia GeForce Now to the device.

At this point, it is unclear exactly how this gadget may function, including what operating system it might use; a modified version of Android would undoubtedly make the most sense.

The Logitech G brand is most recognized for its PC gaming endeavors as well as a few gaming console items.

Undoubtedly, the entire purpose of cloud gaming was to eliminate the requirement for specialized hardware for games. To that purpose, many of the currently available cloud gaming-focused solutions are customized controllers and mounts, like the Gamesir X2 shown above. Sony announced a special PlayStation controller for the iPhone was released just last week.

A dedicated handheld, like the Nintendo Switch Lite, might in some ways provide players with new conveniences when using cloud services. In any event, there is undoubtedly a demand for this product, and we are eagerly anticipating its arrival.
