What more if you’re a billionaire like Warren Buffett? If multi-millionaire athletes and celebrities like seven-time F1 world champion Lewis Hamilton and Jay Leno could build an astounding collection of ultra-rare and expensive cars, how much more if you are?
Buffett rarely purchases a new car since he only travels 3,500 miles a year and prefers American-made automobiles. Buffett chooses a Ford or a General Motors vehicle if he needs a new car, which is admirable coming from a man who could buy any car he wants. Buffett purchased a VW Beetle in the 1960s and maintained it for a year, and he became a part-owner of a Rolls-Royce in high school (per Forbes ).
Warren Buffett is hardly the only billionaire who chooses simple, fuel-efficient vehicles over pricey ones. Former Microsoft CEO Steve Ballmer, who has a net worth of $90.2 billion, favors a Ford Fusion Hybrid, whereas the world’s richest lady, Alice Walton , drives a Ford F-150 King Ranch on a daily basis and has a net value of $60.7 billion. As it turns out, Buffett is simply too conservative to spend a lot of money on a car, especially considering the few miles he drives each year.
