Although the Galaxy Z Flip 3 was a great gadget, its successor is much better. Because of the excellent trade-in value for the Flip 3, it was thrilling for owners of the Flip 3 to have the opportunity to upgrade to the Galaxy Z Flip 4 for a low cost, but the arrangement seems to have fallen through.
Samsung.com offered the Galaxy Z Flip 4 with improved trade-in credits of up to $900 on launch day, leaving the phone’s remaining price as low as $99. Even while it was a great offer, it was even better because the Galaxy Z Flip 3 qualified for the entire $900 trade-in credit.
In any case, it was.
As of this evening, Samsung.com is now offering two storage options for trading in the Galaxy Z Flip 3: one option offers 128GB of storage, and the other offers 256GB. The Galaxy Z Flip 3 was the lone option in the trade-in menu on launch day, getting the full $900 credit. Now, the 256GB model earns $900 in credit toward the cost of a Flip 4 , compared to the 128GB model’s $700. For the Galaxy Z Flip 3, upgrading from the 128GB variant to the 256GB model only cost an extra $100.
Update 8/16: As of this evening, Samsung has once more reduced the value of the Galaxy Z Flip 3 trade-ins, offering $800 for the 256GB model and only $900 for the Bespoke Edition. The only devices that presently qualify for the full $900 credit are the Galaxy Z Fold 3 and Galaxy S22 Ultra. The Galaxy S22’s trade-in value likewise seems to have decreased by $25.
As previously stated, this variation was not there on the day of introduction and only became apparent in the last day or two.
Samsung could not be reached right away for comment on the modification.
Although it seems that the credits for upcoming Galaxy Z Flip 3 trade-ins have been reduced, the modification does not seem to be taking effect retrospectively. The full $900 credit on a 128GB trade-in is still displayed in full on at least one user’s order, it has been confirmed.
With pre-orders for the Flip 4, Samsung is still providing additional benefits including a free case, quadrupled storage, up to $200 in quick credit, and more. Release day for the Galaxy Z Flip 4 is August 26.
