Update: Complete rollout Updated “Mixed for you” album image and artist profiles on YouTube Music

Some users appear to be receiving redesigned cover art for the automatically curated My Mix section in YouTube Music, which is occasionally referred to as Mixed for you.

Depending on your listening history, preferences, and likes, this section of YouTube Music offers a variety of playlists of different genres and subgenres. The Supermix playlist, which combines several of your favorite musical genres into one playlist, has long featured abstract colored vinyl cover art in the Mixed for you area.

Update 04/20: The revised playlist covers were initially only available to a select group of YouTube Music users, but they are now beginning to appear more widely. With more people gradually beginning to notice the revised playlist header pictures, reports on the /r/YouTubeMusic subreddit have increased. However, the compositions in the 90s WordArt style haven’t been warmly received thus far. Many people are beginning to notice the new covers on desktop and mobile devices as well.

Updated on April 21, 2017: Now, both desktop and mobile users of YouTube Music should be able to access your mix covers. Additionally, each cover is dynamic and could have a different look when a playlist is opened from the main page. When the playlist is tapped, some artist images may move about or even vanish, while the collage displaying other images from the playlist appears instead:

It appears that the Mixed for you playlists are getting new covers to incorporate artist album art, as first noticed by /u/mateil over on the YouTube Music subreddit . This can make it simpler to quickly identify the genres of music and artists that are present, but the collages can be jarring in comparison to those abstract icons’ more refined appearance, which you can compare below:

While the original Reddit thread contains numerous reports from users saying that they are now seeing the revised UI, we are not completely clear how far this has been sent out. This definitely appears to be a hastily edited video from the early 2000s, as one poster points out. It’s also unclear how the particular album art gets chosen.

It’s also important to note that although the deployment is said to have begun a few weeks ago, some users are seeing this change on desktop, Android, and other platforms. In light of this, please let us know in the comments section below if you are able to access the new Mixed for you covers while listening to YouTube Music on different devices.
