In the upcoming months, the Galaxy Watch 5 series is expected to make its debut, and previous reports hinted that a Pro model was on the way. Another leak has since confirmed the existence of the Galaxy Watch 5 Pro and clarified Samsung’s branding strategy.
Samsung’s future smartwatch lineup’s codenames and model numbers are revealed in a recent leak from the people at GalaxyClub .
The model numbers for the Galaxy Watch 5’s smaller and larger versions will be SM-R90X and SM-R91X, respectively. This was widely anticipated. There is currently no information available regarding the exact chassis offered by these sizes, however given that the Classic model is anticipated to be discontinued with this generation, 40mm and 44mm seem like a sure bet. These timepieces also go by the codenames Heart-S and Heart-L to indicate their varied sizes.
The most notable component of this leak is Heart-Pro, which unmistakably identifies this enhanced model. The Galaxy Watch 5 Pro was originally anticipated to be the name of the watch, which has the model number SM-R92X, and this codename certainly seems to confirm that hypothesis. Although there is not a direct confirmation, it looks likely.
It’s interesting that there isn’t a second Pro model, at least not for these European versions, indicating that there will just be one size available. Given that a prior battery leak showed a cell that was 60% bigger, that will probably be on the much larger side of the spectrum.
