The Pixel Battery widget is much easier to find on Android 12 QPR3.

A system battery widget was added to Pixel as part of the March Feature Drop, but it’s not the simplest thing to put to your homescreen. Android 12 QPR3 fixes this by making it simpler to find the Battery widget.

The Battery widget used to be located directly above Settings Services in the main list and had the same gear symbol. is the widget’s app, and Android 12 QPR3 introduces an update for it (1.1.0.421250345.df -andgt; 1.1.0.432873485.sr).

As a result, the widget list now has a dedicated Battery entry that is very prominently placed. (For the majority of users, it will show up below Android System Intelligence, which is in charge of the shortcut for the Now Playing history.) It is also accompanied with a blue lightning bolt emblem that is more noticeable, despite the fact that it partly resembles the previous Accelerated Mobile Pages (AMP) logo.

Though the widgets are technically a component of the Google (Search) app, they have their own category similar to how the weather has its own category.

With the public release of the Quarterly Platform Release later this month, the new Battery category should be available to stable users. The new Battery category is live with Android 12 QPR3 Beta 3. After three beta versions, it might actually be the only significant user-facing change (to date).
