The Galaxy S22 will soon be offered by Samsung in a new Bora Purple color, according to the company.

The new Bora Purple Galaxy S22 variant from Samsung will be available from carriers and stores starting next month.

Those who have reviewed their Korean will not hesitate to inform you that the term for purple in Korean is bora (). Thus, Bora Purple, the latest gadget color from Samsung, is actually Purple Purple.

Given that the band’s tagline, borahae, which translates to “I purple you,” is particularly aware of this is the BTS Army. In its press release today on the new colorway, Samsung made references to a K-pop singer and worldwide pop sensation, showing how aware it is of the words’ association with BTS.

Putting linguistics aside, Samsung’s new Bora Purple tint adds a another color option for the Galaxy S22, for a total of eight. Phantom White, Phantom Black, Graphite, Green, Sky Blue, and Cream were a few of the earlier possibilities. Even Violet, the previous purple color for the Galaxy S22 series, was only available from Samsung’s official store.

The Bora Purple Galaxy S22 will go on sale on August 10 in conjunction with the next Galaxy Unpacked event. You can pick it up from directly from Samsung or your favourite carrier, such as ATandamp;T , T-Mobile , Verizon , and others.

The timing of the new Galaxy S22 color should serve as a clear indication that some of the upcoming gadgets are slated to debut at Galaxy Unpacked and will also come in Bora Purple. Bora Purple has already been spotted on a few recently leaked products, including the Galaxy Buds 2 Pro and Galaxy Z Flip 4.
