Sundar Pichai claimed that the Pixel 6 is the fastest-selling Pixel ever on the most recent earnings call, bragging about a quarter’s worth of sales records. For I/O 2022, the Alphabet CEO also hinted at additional hardware and Android announcements.
The Pixel portfolio has advanced significantly with the Pixel 6. And it’s been wonderful to watch how Pixel users have responded. The fastest-ever selling Pixel is this one. Additionally, we are making good success and increasing the brand’s recognition among consumers. I’m enthusiastic about the next products and am looking forward to revealing more at Google I/O.

Similar to Google I/O 2019, the excitement more or less confirms hardware announcements at the developer conference next month. The Pixel Watch and Pixel 6a are strong contenders.
Pichai added that the Android team would present at I/O a number of the many useful functions and services that Android and its platforms offer. The overarching theme of Google’s Android announcements at CES in January was helpfulness. This includes Nearby Share for Windows, the capability of Wear OS to unlock Chromebooks and Android devices, and additional Chrome OS connections.
The bar for user privacy will be raised as we continue to invest in new form factors, seamless multi-device experiences, and provide developers with the resources they need to succeed on mobile.
Later this year, additional smartphone control navigation and interactive features will be added to YouTube on televisions. People who are watching videos (on large displays) will be able to share and comment on them using their smartphones. Each month, YouTube has over 2 billion users who are signed in.
