Since its introduction at CES 2022 in January, Motorola’s wireless Android Auto dongle has not always been available. The Motorola MA1 has improved recently, but it now appears to be getting a little more expensive.
The Motorola MA1 was originally $89.95, but is now $99.99 on Amazon and Best Buy . That is the current pricing when buying directly from Motorola Voice is used, and supply has recently improved.
The original entrance point is still mentioned on the official Motorola Sound product page even though there are indications it hasn’t been changed in some time, and Target is still selling it for the same price. Furthermore, clicking Buy Now only directs you to Amazon.
It’s not difficult to assume that supply issues are the cause of the Motorola MA1’s price hike. Following a CPU change, the AAWireless dongle experienced a similar issue last year.

The Motorola MA1’s unique selling point is the way it obtains technology licensing from Google that makes it simple for consumers to wirelessly connect to pre-existing Android Auto automobiles with USB support.
The non-removable cord on this dongle that resembles a Chromecast attaches to your car using USB-A. Users no longer need to plug in their Android phone to use Auto on infotainment systems after pairing it. It is intended for older vehicles without wireless Android Auto.
