SAP S/4HANA Cloud now natively integrates Google Docs and Sheets.

Google and SAP today announced an expanded cooperation that will see Docs and Sheets integrated with S/4HANA Cloud as part of the virtual Workspace Summit conference.

By combining the collaborative features of Google Docs and Google Sheets with core SAP software, intended for executing all mission-critical activities in the cloud, users will be able to transform how work is done throughout the company.

An enterprise resource planning (ERP) system is SAP’s S/4HANA Cloud. By facilitating simple data import/export between SAP software and those two Workspace apps, integration with Google Docs and Sheets is intended to improve collaboration by providing immediate access to real-time editing and concurrent collaborative engagements. Other alleged advantages include:

one-step integration, which provides version control and eliminates potential translation layers when sharing application data and documents, gives users the assurance that their data source is clean. the effectiveness of rapid integration, which enables consumers to immediately embrace the solution

Finance is the first solution area anticipated, with others following:

Consider a finance professional managing general journal entries for financial records on SAP S/4HANA Cloud in a safe, dependable, and legal manner. As part of their regular business operations, the employee will have access to Google Docs and Google Sheets, where they may collaborate on documents while knowing that SAP S/4HANA Cloud offers a reliable data source with version control.

Numerous joint clients have frequently requested this integration, and it is anticipated that SAP S/4HANA Cloud will incorporate the initial set of features as standard capability later this year.

According to Javier Soltero, vice president and general manager of Google Workspace, the shift to hybrid work suggests that businesses cannot rely on old tool sets that might lead to silos and obstructions to cooperation. With the growth of our cooperation with SAP, these new comprehensive integrations will give users of SAP 4/HANA who deal with complicated datasets access to Google Workspace’s real-time collaboration features, allowing teams to more effectively advance projects by simultaneously accessing SAP data.
