By allowing you to mix them and have many widgets take up the same space on your homescreen, Samsung expanded upon the major widget push of Android 12. Smart Widgets, which were previously available only on Samsung’s One UI 4.1 smartphones, are now accessible on the Tab S8 and other Galaxy tablets.
A new Smart Widget item has been added at the very top of the list of Widgets on our standard-sized Tab S8 that was released on April 15 and is running the March security patch. The three sizes are 22, 41, and 42 when expanded.
To save space and get current information on your home screen, combine widgets.
The other two widgets can be expanded to fill the width of your screen, however the 22 widget cannot be resized. You can remove the current widget, add a new one, or access any modification settings for it by long-pressing on a grouping.
You can modify with a fullscreen UI in Settings, right next to Remove, and turn on/off widgets that automatically rotate.
Automatically rotate widgets to display the most pertinent data.
Similar to how you cycle through widgets on phones, you swipe left or right, and a counter at the bottom shows how many are accessible. This was very just added, and it appears that it was included in the update that was released in mid-April. At this time, availability does not appear is expected to be common.
Only the Galaxy S21 and S22 are available on phones. Even though they were included with One UI 4.1 at launch, Smart Widgets were not offered on the Tab S8. It is surprisingly effective, but slightly more useful on phones with smaller displays than on tablets.
