Google is formally announcing support for add-ons that integrate outside educational resources, which will further consolidate Classroom as a central point.
Google teamed with 18 partners to provide Classroom add-ons at launch; these products are useful for both teachers and students. While the former offers simpler access, the latter benefits from seamless integration.
Without leaving Classroom, teachers may access kahoots they’ve created or stored and make them simple for students to utilize with the Kahoot! add-on. Students can access interactive Pear Deck presentations from within Classroom and submit them with just a few clicks. Before adding IXL skills to a Classroom Assignment or Stream, you can use the IXL add-on to explore IXL skills by subject or grade level. You may also assign skills to a particular student. This is made easier in particular by one-click login with Sign in with Google. The company claims that one of the major obstacles to effectively incorporating them into classes is passwords. In terms of accessibility, Google Workspace for Education Plus version or Teaching and Learning upgrade users can access the add-ons feature in Classroom from anywhere in the world.

Teachers can benefit from the fact that many of the add-ons (such as CK-12, Nearpod, and Edpuzzle) include grading integration in the meantime. This enables grading directly within Google Classroom, auto-grading, statistics, and sharing outcomes with students along with tailored commentary. It also enables gradebook sync with Classroom.
Adobe Express for Education, BookWidgets, CK-12, Edpuzzle, Formative, Genially, Google Arts and Culture, Google Play Books, IXL, Kahoot!, Nearpod, Newsela, PBS LearningMedia, Pear Deck, SAFARI Montage, Sora from OverDrive Education, WeVideo, and Wordwall are some of the available add-ons (which vary by region or language).
If you are looking for an add-on that isn’t available in Classroom, contact your admin by email to see if your district can put it up. You can also contact give feedback within Classroom to request additional add-on partners that aren’t on this list.
