The word game Wordle, which we are all familiar with, has gained popularity since its debut in 2021. The puzzle game has seen upgrades after being purchased by the New York Times, one of which being the inclusion of Wordle in the New York Times Crossword app.
Wordle added a new function in July that turned out to be a fantastic addition. Users wouldn’t have to worry about starting a game on a separate device just to discover the stats didn’t transfer over if they synced their gaming data between devices. Additionally, this feature wasn’t a purchased one. Instead, all users required to log in was a free NYT account. Following that, each stat was safely stored in your account.
Additionally, Wordle is receiving a fresh upgrade. The New York Times Crossword app on Android and iOS will now have Wordle, according to the New York Times. Players can log in and locate Wordle among the best games to play on the app using a free account. Your previous playing location’s stats will also be kept and transferred across.

Players could only ever play through a browser before this transition, albeit there were several Android copycat applications that imitated the same game concept. Due to the lack of an official app, this was a major source of annoyance for many players, myself included.
Wordle in the New York Times Crossword app for Android and iOS seems familiar thanks to its unaltered user interface. Several more NYT games are also available through the app today, although some require a subscription. You only need to create a free NYT account to use Wordle, which you can do using Google for quick and simple access.
