Play Points pay off with free Chromecast, a discount on Pixel Buds, and more for Gold and Platinum tiers. {U}

There are four tiers to Google Play Points across the majority of the world. Google Store discounts are now available to top Platinum Play Points users as a hardware benefit.

Update 5/7: Since we first reported yesterday, a few Gold level members have commented on receiving this benefit, and another Gold level member claimed to have been offered a free Chromecast with Google TV.

There are currently 1.4 points for every $1 purchased, in-game point events, multipliers for movies and books, Platinum weekly awards, and premium support as Platinum benefits. To get to this level, you need to have more than 3,000 points. Gold, Silver, and Bronze levels come before Platinum, and South Korea additionally has a Diamond level.
