Google said last week that it was modifying widgets for Android tablets. The newly released Google Drive widget has an intriguing circle style that is exclusive to Material You.
Google is particularly adding shortcuts to start a new document in Docs, Sheets, or Slides in Drive quick actions. The bottom creation sheet’s icon from the bar layout has been replaced by this.
This new shortcut joins others to open Drive, perform a search, upload, and start the camera quickly. Everything is set up in a 32 configuration by default.
The Google Drive widget, however, takes on a rotary dial-like appearance when it is made bigger. The former distinctive appearance of Material You widgets was an x-shape; this is a new shape (or flower petal). It is undoubtedly attractive but only really functions with apps that have a lot of shortcuts.
This new circular widget arrangement for Google Drive is available on tablets. Android phones do not support this new design.

Google has also started rolling out a modified version of the Keep widget that moves from the sidebar to the bottom bar as of last week. The dual-pane view is still not generally available, in our opinion.
Google is simultaneously releasing multi-instance support for Docs, Sheets, and Slides on Android. This will be completely launched over the next few days and allows you to have two windows open simultaneously. Similar changes had already been made to Google Drive.
