Spotify is now delivering real-time lyrics to the Nest Hub and other Google Assistant Smart Displays after debuting them in November on Android, iOS, televisions, consoles, and the web.
Spotify’s fullscreen media controls now include a lyrics button next to the bottom-right heart when playing music on the Nest Hub. As the track moves along, tapping replaces the backdrop image with scrolling text that highlights the current line. Future lines are displayed below the transparent controls row.
When there are no words, the lyrics function also indicates this, and it will stay on until you turn it off. Spotify states that the lyrics are Licensed and Provided by MusixMatch as you get close to the conclusion.
It’s a useful feature that Google Play Music originally introduced in the latter half of 2018. However, that feature was never added to YouTube Music, which does include lyrics in the Now Playing UI on Android, iOS, and the web, albeit they are static.
Since this debut, Spotify’s main platforms and clients all have lyrics parity. In our testing this afternoon, the feature functions on both Spotify Free and Premium accounts with broad availability in recent days . An organization named commented on the feature :
One of the most often requested elements by listeners worldwide is lyrics. Through our collaboration with Musixmatch , we’re bringing song lyrics to life for the bulk of our huge music library.
