The recently released Nothing Phone (1)’s first significant OTA update, Nothing OS 1.1.0, is now rolling out and includes many new features, including interaction with Tesla, NFT widgets, the July 2022 security patch, and more.
Nothing OS 1.1.0 is about 120MB in size and has a significant number of bug fixes for the mid-ranger. The startup lost no time in starting the support process for its first device. The integration of Tesla is one of the most important additions.
By using the Quick Settings toggle in the notification shade, you will be able to connect with Tesla EVs and manage your vehicle thanks to this experimental functionality. To gain access, you must link your Tesla account. Once connected, you will be able to do actions like turning on the lights and air conditioning before entering or flashing the headlights to help locate your car in a parking lot.
Carl Pei revealed during the keynote that an NFT widget would be available that would link to your current accounts and allow you to view the digital art directly on your homescreen. There should be a new NFT Gallery area in the widget panel after installing the Nothing OS 1.1.0 upgrade. Peis own $310,997 Crypto Punk NFT just so happens to be the placeholder image.

Other noteworthy new features include the option to remove the Google Search box from your primary homescreen view, and the Nothing OS 1.1.0 OTA update includes a plethora of camera improvements. While noise in low-light photographs reportedly decreased, the Glyph fill light can now be used in Portrait Mode. Using the Samsung JN1 ultrawide, color uniformity and sharpness are also increased.
The fingerprint scanner on the lockscreen vanished was one of the many bugs we encountered, but it has since been fixed. The July 2022 security patch has also been implemented, along with improvements to Face Unlock’s performance and quickness. Unfortunately, Nothing OS 1.1.0 doesn’t have any indication of the hidden Music Visualization Mode, but you can always find it yourself with our assistance.
