The software on last year’s OnePlus Watch was rather unsatisfactory, which contributed to its lack of success. According to previously leaked screenshots, OnePlus is gearing up for round two with another wearable called the Nord Watch.
The OnePlus Watch launched in 2021 with a tempting $159 price tag and a ton of features. Although the OnePlus Watch’s software was a complete mess, we observed in our review that the hardware of the device had a lot going for it. We are now catching views of the OnePlus Nord Watch.
Other than what we can gather from some recent official-looking pictures, we don’t know much about what the OnePlus Nord Watch will have to offer. On Twitter, Leaked screenshots of the Nord Watch have posted images of the N Health app and a tiny thumbnail of the watch (via GSMArena ).
The Nord Watch forgoes the OnePlus Watch’s circular shape in favor of an Apple Watch-like form with a crown on the right side of the device. The crown is central, unlike the Apple Watch, and may feature buttons on top and bottom of it. The wrist strap connectors on the outer borders of the Nord Watch appear lifted off of the body, which adds to the sleek appearance it is clearly trying for.
In addition to the physical look, the leaked screencaps of the Nord Watch offer us a decent indication of what to anticipate from the N Health app and the gadget. Without fitness monitoring, a modern smartwatch is obviously incomplete. The app appears to include a straightforward Daily Activity pane that measures steps and calories with recorded workouts underneath. The activity graph has a striking resemblance to the one on the OnePlus Watch, which may indicate that it will use the same operating system.
A preview of various readymade watch faces may be found on another page, and some of them are reasonably nice. Even if the Nord Watch is unlikely to run Wear OS, it appears that you will be able to use photographs for your watch faces.
This is more information than we’ve seen so far, even though there isn’t a lot to go on. According to GSMArena, the Nord Watch could cost around $125, slightly less than the OnePlus Watch and continuing the Nord line’s commitment to affordability.
