Later this month, Google is hosting Search On 2022.

The 2022 event will be held in late September. Google has been hosting Search On since 2020 to reveal the newest features for its eponymous product.

On September 28, at 10 a.m. PT, The livestream will begin. This year’s tagline, “Search outside the box,” is a direct allusion to Google Lens visual search. The invitation also makes mention of location, place reviews, and travel search.

We’re updating Google Search to make it easier for users to understand the information in the world in more organic and intuitive ways.
Earlier this year, Google declared:

Google Lens multisearch, which enables you to inquire about taken pictures, first debuted in beta back in April. The MUM (Multitask Unified Model) is not supported by the version in use today, making it incapable of handling sophisticated queries like snapping a picture of broken bicycle gears and receiving repair instructions, which was the centerpiece of Search On 2021.

Google revealed at I/O that scene exploration and a near-me specifier for multisearch would be included for a true Ctrl F. Hopefully Search On 2022 will include information about the Google Lens rollout of these fascinating new features.
