Irregular Heart Rhythm Notifications from Fitbit are now available in over 20 new nations in Europe and beyond.

Irregular Heart Rhythm Notifications, which automatically notify users of indicators of AFib and other irregular heartbeats, were initially introduced by Fitbit in the United States earlier this year. Irregular Heart Rhythm Notifications are now supported in over 20 countries across Europe thanks to Fitbit’s global expansion of this feature.

Irregular Heart Rhythm Notifications employ the heart rate sensor on a selection of Fitbit products to find aberrant heart rhythms while a user is sleeping, and if a problem is discovered, a notification is sent the following morning. It tracks changes in blood vessel volume on a user’s wrist using the heart rate sensor. The feature is used to identify atrial fibrillation (AFib), which increases the risk of stroke, cardiac blood clots, and other issues related to the heart.

As previously indicated, this feature was initially only available in the United States, but Fitbit has recently received permission to make it available in more places.

In late August, the Fitbit company announced the Versa 4, Sense 2, and Inspire 3 while also announcing that it had received a CE mark for irregular heart rhythm notifications, stating:

You will also have access to crucial health features, such as Irregular Heart Rhythm Notifications, which checks your heart rhythm for indications of atrial fibrillation (AFib) in individuals 22 years of age and older who have no known history of the condition. This feature is compatible with a variety of our heart-rate-enabled devices and has received FDA and CE certification.

The presence of the CE Mark certifies that the feature is accessible to the European Union and some other international territories. Fitbit’s Irregular Heart Rhythm Notifications will be now accessible in over 20 nations across Europe and the rest of the planet as of late August 2022.
