How long does the battery last on your Pixel 6? {Poll}

Since its release, the Pixel 6 has boasted significant battery benefits over its larger sibling. Now, it appears that users—including myself—are reporting a significant decrease in battery life efficiency, with the Pixel 6s battery depleting incredibly quickly and hardly lasting a day.

Pixel 6 users are reporting some serious battery drain appears to be connected to the Android 13 upgrade that we saw a few weeks ago. One thread in Google’s help forum for its Pixel devices has nearly 1000 upvotes and more than 200 replies. The majority of those responses are from consumers sharing their typical experience with the Pixel 6, in which they complain that they are unable to go an entire day without seeing the dreaded “Turn on Battery Saver?” notice.

On my Pixel 6 running Android 13, I started to have this problem around a week ago. Even with minimal use, I can already tell that my gadget will reach 20% by 6 o’clock. To give you an idea, I used to be able to go the entire day without dropping below 20% by 11 p.m. That possibility appears to be eliminated.

Although most Pixel 6 owners are complaining about battery drain on their Android 13-powered devices, I have personal experience with a Pixel 6 that is having the same problems on Android 12. More specifically, my wife can’t go past 5:00 p.m. without a charge because she uses a Pixel 6 with Android 12.

pixel 6 battery drain

I’m experiencing significant battery consumption both during normal use and while the device is sitting idle, which is consistent with the experience described in Google’s support thread. Now that I have my Pixel 6 on my desk for an hour or two while I work, I fully anticipate the battery to lose 10–20% of its charge during that time. This is obviously not what should be happening.

In our assessment, we rated the Pixel 6 a very high rating for battery life, far outperforming the Pixel 6 Pro. Though it may be the end of an era, the Pixel 6’s battery life was nothing to worry about for the duration of a full day.

Of course, Google hasn’t mentioned this problem or said that a fix is being developed. Though I assume the corporation is aware, I have not yet been able to contact assistance about the issue.

Having said that, it wouldn’t be shocking in the slightest if the issue was caused simply by the Android 13 update.

After saying that, we’d want to turn it over to you. Do you have battery life problems, and if so, do you use Android 13? Please let us know by selecting an answer from the survey below. If you have any further information, please share it in the comments section. We’re interested in finding out more about this unexpected wave of battery problems because there’s a lot to learn about it.
