Google Fi is giving away free mobile service for the rest of 2022 in an effort to entice former members to sign up again.
You and up to five other people can receive slightly over three months of free subscription on the Simply Unlimited or Unlimited Plus tiers if invited (through email). When fully utilized (six lines on the latter plan ), this is worth $720.
One previous Fi user who took advantage of this unique, one-time offer had it cancelled at the beginning of 2020. All lines must accept the invitation by October 21, 2022, and those who accept must activate their Fi service within 30 days and by December 31, 2022. Those who are invited receive a promotional code.
You’ve been away from Fi for a while, so we’ve got a special deal just for you: for a limited time, you can sign up for an unlimited Fi plan with up to 6 lines without paying anything for the rest of 2022.
According to Google, in order to be eligible, all lines must port (in) a number to Fi. Additionally, ports from carriers that offer calling, voice, and data services are required; Fi-to-Fi number transfers are not counted.
The Fi Unlimited plans’ stated price, including taxes and fees, is discounted. Other costs are not accounted for. A pretty bold move on Google Fi’s side is to provide free service for the remainder of 2022. The Simply Unlimited plan does not include data SIMs, throttles data after 35GB, and provides 5 GB of monthly hotspot tethering (for tablets). For four users, the price per line drops to $20 from the standard $50.
While you receive data SIMs and travel-friendly features, Unlimited Plus increases it to 50GB before restricting and has no tethering restriction within that. One line is $65 and four lines are only $40 each.
