Samsung’s foldable phones are expensive, and maintaining them was frequently the biggest hassle. Samsung has now drastically reduced the cost of repairs for the Galaxy Z Fold 4 and Flip 4.
According to The Verge , replacing a cracked screen on the Galaxy Z Fold 4 and Galaxy Z Flip 4 now starts at just $29. The price is same to what Samsung charges for its conventional cellphones and has decreased by hundreds of dollars over the years.
Fixing a broken screen on the Galaxy Z Fold 3 would have cost $249 outside of the regular warranty, and that was only if you had Samsung Care, an additional $13 monthly fee on top of the phone’s purchase price (though Samsung did offer it for free for the first year). Screen repairs costing almost $480 without care for out-of-warranty repairs.
The price of an out-of-warranty screen repair for the Galaxy Z Fold 4 or Galaxy Z Flip 4 has not yet been confirmed by Samsung.
But this is undoubtedly a positive development.
Samsung does point out that next-day repairs are subject to your location and that accidental damage claims are capped at three per calendar year.

While a monthly fee isn’t always the best option for a smartphone, particularly when a case and/or screen protector offer more cost-effective protection, Care is a good purchase for foldables. The Galaxy Z Fold 4 is an expensive replacement for most people when it breaks, and the exorbitant out-of-warranty repair prices don’t help the situation either.
This is especially helpful because Samsung’s foldables can get damaged because they aren’t dust-proof. Additionally, durability problems still exist with ultra-thin glass.
