For a limited period, Play Points can be exchanged for Google Store savings.

You can now use Play Points to get up to $200 off Google Store purchases in the Play Store, just in time for the Pixel 6a and Pixel Buds Pro pre-orders to start.

Higher tiers of the program earn at a higher rate and can unlock free weekly points. In the regions where the program has started, Google Play Points are earned by making purchases from the Play Store, including in-app purchases. These Play Points can then be used to make purchases, given to a good cause, or exchanged for Google Play Credit or specific in-app prizes.

Google has started rolling out a new Play Points redemption option that grants discounts on Google Store purchases. Although we have seen it on a handful of our own devices, it doesn’t appear to be generally accessible just yet. The deal has four stages that are available and can each only be redeemed once: $10, $50, $100, and $200. According to the rules, the offer is presently only available in the United States.

As you might assume, these discounts cannot be combined, so you cannot use a $200 discount in conjunction with a $100 discount to receive $300 off the price of a Pixel phone. Additionally, because the codes expire after 30 days, you shouldn’t use your Play Points to purchase one of these Google Store promotions until you’re prepared to buy your next piece of hardware.

Apart from that, these Google Store deals are being provided by the Play Store at shockingly affordable prices. Normally, 100 Play Points are worth $1 when used to purchase Play Store credits, but with these new Google Store discounts, only 50 Play Points are worth $1. That means you can earn $10 off with just 500 points, or $200 off for 10,000 points, if you’ve really been saving up.

In light of the impending release of the Pixel Buds Pro, using 10,000 points would basically make them free. There is still time to accumulate Play Points to receive a Google Store discount on this fall’s launches, like as the Pixel Watch and Pixel 7 series, since the Play Store will be running this campaign through the end of November. The rewards start to add up rapidly when combined with Google One’s 10% Google Store credit rebate.

All things considered, this seems like a respectable approach for Google Play to reward its most loyal users, a recent trend of the Play Points program that might even persuade them to purchase a Pixel.

Thank you, Lance.
