Eve will use Matter to deliver its previously exclusive smart home goods to Android.

Large portions of the smart home ecosystem are expected to be unified by matter, and as a result, items that previously only worked with one assistant or gadget will be able to reach new customers. That is what Eve will be announcing at IFA 2022, along with the news that its previously exclusive Apple line of smart home goods will soon be available on Android.

By the end of 2022, Eve will launch an Android app that will enable the company’s smart home gadgets for the first time on the platform. Eve was previously restricted to iOS and HomeKit support.

Eve claims that Matter will support its products on Google Assistant, Alexa, Samsung SmartThings, and other platforms in addition to Android.

14 of Eve’s current products will work with Matter, which will then work with Android and Google Assistant. Updates to the Thread-enabled products’ firmware will make this possible. Eve claims:

With 14 devices available that are prepared to support Matter, Eve’s old Bluetooth range has been replaced by an all-Thread selection. In order to eventually integrate with other smart home systems, including as Amazon Alexa, Google Home, or Samsung SmartThings, certain Thread-enabled Eve items, which currently only function with Apple Home, will start receiving free over-the-air firmware updates. By the end of this year, Eve will also release an Android version of the Eve App with these upgrades.

Before launching its Android line, Eve has offered offered a variety of smart home gadgets, including smart plugs, security cameras, motion sensors, water sensors, and an air quality monitor. The company will also introduce MotionBlinds, a third-generation Light Switch, and an updated white version of their outdoor camera at IFA 2022. On what’s new, 9to5Mac has the full breakdown .
