Google has been working to improve the security, privacy, and cleanliness of the Chrome Web Store for the past few years. The latest effort adds badges to the Chrome Web Store to more clearly identify superior extensions.
The extensions that have received the Featured badge have undergone a manual evaluation by members of the Chrome team, adhere to Google’s technological best practices, and meet rigorous design and user experience criteria.
This entails utilizing the most recent platform APIs, preserving end-user privacy, and offering a fun and simple experience. Additionally, the store listing must be comprehensive and feature high-quality screenshots.
For the Featured badge from this support page , Chrome developers can submit a review request under My item andgt; I wish to nominate my addon. The workflow doesn’t seem to be operational currently. And further information will be available here .

For developers who have confirmed their identity and shown compliance with the developer program policies, there is also the Established Publisher badge. The latter particularly calls for adherence to the Developer Program Policy and a long history of success with Google services.
When looking at a Chrome Web Store listing, blue badges are displayed underneath the addon name. End users can discover more about each badge by hovering over it.
