The September security patch for the Pixel 4/XL, 4a, 4a 5G, 5, 5a, 6, and 6 Pro is rolling out today as the first upgrade to Android 13 since its introduction last month.
The Android 13 September patch build from 2022-09-01 and 2022-09-05 both address 36 security flaws. They range from mild to critical vulnerabilities.
Google reports that no significant security flaws impacting the Android platform have been publicly publicized without a security update or mitigation being made accessible for Android devices in the most recent Android Security and Privacy Year in Review. Additionally, compared to Q4 2017, there was an increase of 84% year over year in security fixes.
There is only a global build, but the special bulletin for Google devices contains five more security updates.
The Pixel 6a patch is not rolling out on the same day as the first several updates for the Pixel 6 and 6 Pro, but it should bring about a pleasant improvement when it does so later this month.
