Download Pixel factory images and OTAs right away to use Android 13 with the August security patch.

Android 13 also includes the August security patch after a two-week delay that included a temporary release, in addition to aesthetic and functional improvements. The official OTA and factory images are now accessible if you don’t want to wait.

Compared to last year’s debut in October, which was significant for reaching AOSP first rather than having a simultaneous launch with the Pixel, the stable release of Android 13 in August comes much sooner.

Naturally, Android 13 had a shortened preview cycle with one fewer developer preview and beta testing beginning in May before I/O 2022. Having said that, Beta 3 in June unexpectedly received a flurry of patches with several fixes.

The August security patch will be included in a minor OTA update for users who are already on Android 13 Beta 4.1.

The Android Beta Program will continue to be active and test new updates into the following year, just like it did this year. Those who have signed up for the scheme will receive the final 13 release after which they can visit the site to opt-out and avoid wiping their Pixel.

For stable users, the over-the-air update is currently rolling out, but if you don’t want to wait, you may manually sideload with the images below .

The error is caused by Android 13’s beta 4.1 being more recent than the current final release. Google has been contacted, and perhaps updated builds will be released soon.

Update 2: The factory images remain the same, but if you check for updates on beta devices, the on-device OTA is now being rolled out more broadly.
