A variety of Memories enhancements are being rolled out by Google Photos, including sharing, and an advanced collage editor is also coming to Android and iOS.
More than 3.5 billion Memories are seen each month since September 2019 making it one of Photos’ most popular features.

The largest improvement since debut has been made to Memories, which are shown at the top of the photo grid. Google will soon include more movies by automatically cutting lengthy ones to only the most important parts. In order to add dynamism, still photographs will also include a slight zoom in/zoom out feature, and later (later next month), instrumental music:
It’s remarkable how a combination of motion, video, and music can transport you back to your childhood. I frequently discover myself replaying these new Memories, especially those of my children.
With these updates, you may now swipe up or down to switch between Memories in a manner similar to how you switch between YouTube Shorts, and you can move photographs within a Memory by tapping on its left or right edge.
In the meantime, Google has already started using machine learning to generate Cinematic Photos by adding 3D motion that might have occurred before a shot. Since they debuted in 2020, they have really been one of “the” most saved visual effects. Currently in development are Cinematic Memories, which use music to turn a collection of still images into a whole cinematic experience.
Similarly, Styles will embellish recollections with illustrations:
There will be various designs available at launch, including one-time styles created just for Google Photos by featured artists Shantell Martin and Lisa Congdon .
Last but not least, Google Photos is now enabling you to share whole Memories with your loved ones. With iOS and the web to follow soon, this capability is currently going out to Android users. The most popular feature, Shared Memories, will be accessible in Google Photos.
The final update for today adds a collage editor that expands on Google Photos’ existing feature that allows you to choose numerous photographs and have them organized into a grid. You may now choose from a variety of designs and styles and change the layout using drag-and-drop. Today marks the beginning of this.
