The Galaxy Z Fold 2, the first device in Samsung’s popular foldable series, made its debut in 2020 with a hefty $1,999 price tag and Android 10 pre-installed. A new version of Android 12L is now available for the Galaxy Z Fold 2.
If you still have a Galaxy Z Fold 2, at least if you live in Germany, your device should be receiving the Android 12L update right now. The region’s upgrade with the version number F916BXXU2HVHA was first noticed by SamMobile . The upgrade and the September 2022 security patch are released together.
This update should continue to spread to more areas throughout the ensuing days and weeks.
The Galaxy Z Fold 2 now has access to One UI 4.1.1 thanks to Android 12L, which most notably adds support for the taskbar that Google first introduced with that unique big-screen Android version and enables speedy switching between apps and simple multitasking. The update also includes some new multitasking gestures and greater support for selfies taken on the cover screen.
According to Samsung’s current update schedule, the Fold 2 should also be eligible for an update to Android 13 and later. Also scheduled for the Galaxy Fold at some point is Android 12L. The entire lineup of Galaxy Z Flip models from Samsung will also be upgraded.
