Asus today opened Zenfone 9 pre-orders for the US via Amazon after making the announcement for international markets at the end of July. However, there are now a few things to keep in mind.
A set of ROG Cetra True Wireless gaming headphones (worth $99 each) will be included for free with each said Zenfone 9 Preorder during the month of September, according to the @ASUSUSA Twitter account, as long as supplies last.
The Zenfone 9 warnings start at the Amazon US link in the Asus tweet. Midnight Black and Moonlight White are directly available from (Sold by) Amazon.com in the 8GB RAM and 128GB storage configuration.
However, as can be seen in the bottom-right corner of the accompanying screenshot, it is now out of stock and has no ship date specified.

But Amazon will point you in the direction of a third-party retailer who doesn’t start shipping until late October. It’s unclear whether Asus’ Amazon stock has already sold out or whether there’s another problem with the pre-order.
The price of the aforementioned base model is revealed to be $699. While Starry Blue and Sunset Red are now out of stock, that third party is selling 16GB / 256GB for $799.
In the end, waiting until Amazon.com availability is restored is the best option. The Zenfone 9 has a 5.9-inch 120Hz AMOLED screen and a front-facing 12MP hole-punch camera, making it the ultra-compact phone of the season. It has a 50MP main camera, as well as a 12MP super wide-angle camera, and is powered by the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 processor (113 field of view). Before making a purchase, make sure to validate supported carrier bands .
A case and a 4,300 mAh battery with a 30W power converter (no wireless charging) are also provided in the box. A 3.5mm headphone jack, IP65/IP68 water resistance, and a side-mounted fingerprint sensor are other highlights. Although Android 13 is already in testing, it comes pre-installed with Android 12.
