As One UI 5.0 beta is released, the Galaxy S21 series gets its first taste of Android 13.

Samsung has been working on Android 13 for some time, and now a second device can test the beta version of the operating system. One UI 5.0 beta for the Galaxy S21 series is now available from Samsung, providing the 2021 release an early look at Android 13.

Samsung has added the Galaxy S21, S21, and S21 Ultra to its One UI 5.0 beta in two locations during the past several hours. As SamMobile points out, South Korea and the United Kingdom are both currently qualified for the beta, with other nations anticipated to follow quickly behind.

Owners of the Galaxy S21 can enroll through the Samsung Members app on unlocked devices, just like those of the Galaxy S22. To register and install the update, your phone must also have a functional SIM card.

One UI 5.0, which is based on Android 13 and adds a number of enhancements and new capabilities to Samsung’s software experience, should be basically the same on the Galaxy S21 series and Galaxy S22.

While certain apps receive new icons, privacy and security are improved, and Samsung’s OCR features are given a boost in the face of competition from similar Google and Apple services, Color Palette, Samsung’s response to Material You, gains some new options.

A new Smart Suggestions widget and, more intriguingly, Privacy Detection were among the new features included in the second One UI 5.0 beta that was released last week for the Galaxy S22. Because of this, Samsung’s software can detect when a user is ready to reveal potentially sensitive information through images and alert them before they do so.

The Galaxy Z Fold 3/Flip 3 and Galaxy Z Fold 4/Flip 4 will probably be the next devices to receive One UI 5.0 and Android 13; Samsung is reported to start rolling out the stable upgrade in October or November.
