Another security update is available for Walmart’s extremely affordable Android TV streamers.

The astonishingly nice pair of Onn streamers from Walmart are by far the most affordable way to explore the world of Android TV, and this week another upgrade to increase security will be released for those devices.

Walmart is currently putting out a new firmware update to its Onn Android TV box that is a security-focused update, as originally saw on Reddit and confirmed on our own device. Nothing new or significant has been added here.

What then is new?
There are three months’ worth of security updates in Walmart’s changelog, which brings the streamer up to date with Android’s May 2022 security patch.
Update on SPL for March, April, and May 2022

Ironically, Walmart’s streamers are now on pace with Chromecast and Google TV, which only recently received their first updates for 2022 last month along with the May 2022 security patch. On the other hand, Walmart has so far this year released two additional security updates, as well as bug patches and other updates for its Android TV devices.

The Onn Android TV streamers from $14.88 and 4K model at $19.88 are still available at Walmart.
