In anticipation of the impending Pixel tablet, Google has added a few additional animations to the Data Restore Tool for Android.
Regarding APK Insight: We’ve decompiled the most recent version of an app that Google put on the Play Store in our APK Insight post. When we decompile these files—known as APKs for Android apps—we can find numerous lines of code that allude to potential future features. Remember that Google might or might not ever deploy these features, and our understanding of what they are might be limited. However, we’ll try to give those that are nearly finished a chance to demonstrate how they’ll seem if they do ship. Read on with that in mind.
With the exception of manufacturers like Samsung who have their own method for copying data, Google’s Data Restore Tool makes it simple and quick to copy messages, apps, and more from an existing Android phone while setting up a new one. Additionally, Data Restore Tool may copy over the same data from an iPhone following the recent release of the Switch to Android app on iOS.
The Data Restore Tool was updated this week, bringing it to version 1.0.455404737 via the. When you copy data onto a new Android tablet, the app will display six new animations that we spotted in the update.
The key distinction between these animations with the ones that already exist is that one of the devices is enlarged to look more like a tablet than a phone. The animations are also intended to flow into one another, so we’ve joined them together to demonstrate that.
While the names of these animations are straightforward and generic, such as copying animation tablet, a closer look reveals that they all contain the codename Tangor. Tangor is the internal codename for Google’s upcoming Pixel tablet, which is scheduled for release in 2019.
This leads us to believe that the new animations were created with the Pixel tablet in mind. However, a look at the app’s code indicates that the Data Restore Tool will display the same animations on any device with a screen DPI of at least 600, therefore the Pixel tablet is not required.
Thanks to JEB Decompiler , some APK Insight teardowns are made possible.
